AND all of a sudden,
From rubble to prosperous, lands changed. It was a bit cool out and the sun was shining with some over-cast. The mare made her way from the sandy out-cast lands to the padded forest. Decorated with pines, and redwoods, tall, powerful swinging tree's provided a shadowed path for the mare. Boa hung slightly and skull dragging on the ground slightly.
Today was a lazy, slow day. A tree branched snapped behind her and she jumped. Crouching down into a defense state. She heard a scratching noise and out popped a small red fox. Exhaling loudly Helena kept walking. She stumbled upon a large lake with lilie pads, and floating flowers. It was quiet. Too quiet she though to herself although she kept walking forward. She gathered her limbs into a collected trot to the edge of the water, dipping her boa and skull down.
The sun radiated off of the waters front. It blinded her while she took long sips of the cool refreshing H2o. She pivoted and moved away from the silent water and dipped her skull down to the green grass to eat.

The palomino stud's ears pivoted as they took in information from the surrounding woodlands, from the birds chriping high in the trees to the cool ripple of the water as is lapped upon the pebbled shore. His notrils blew in a snort, his fine head held high as he made his meandering way through the lakeside forest. His pristine ivory tail lashed his golden sides in a vain attempt to decimate the flies that dared target him and his pace quickened slightly in a ridiculous attempt to outrun them. Drusus stopped as his trail ended on a cliff looking out over the lake, his presence causing a small slide of dirt and other debris to scitter down the rock and into the water. He shifted on his hooves, a deep stallion's call drifting from his maw as his chocolate eyes drifted over the trees shielding any other equines from his inquisitive gaze. He turned away from the panoramic overview of the area and started down a steep trail, skidding slightly as he made his noisy way down.

The buckskin mare heard the sound that rumbled behind her. She didn't lift her skull, just flickered her audits. ' Hmm another stallion that thinks he's a prince'. She did catch a glimpse of his structure. He was bold, handsome, and powerful. She swallowed the chewed grass slowly raising her boa only to toss it from side to side.
She gazed at him. Only giving a soft neigh in return to his shout out to the world.

His course altered once his ears caught the sound of a returning call, albeit not one that sounded of great interest, but a reply all the same. His hooves lifted high and came down sound, his long white tail flowing out behind him like any banner. Drusus slowed to a walk as he neared the buckskin, a mare. "Hello." his voice was an endearing tenor, a confident expression on his handsome face as he spoke to the unknown mare. "My name is Drusus, may I inquire after your's?" the andalusian stud carried on, cokcing his fine head to the side questioningly. His mocha eyes roamed over the mare's bodice. She was young, had quite a few scars that marred her otherwise clean coat. Not quite up to par with the fillies that were to be his many years ago, but she would do nicely to go with the herd he was building. Quite nicely, indeed.

Audits perched forward she stepped back as he walked near her. She was protective of her self. Although he didn't display any threats, she warned him. As she processed his name in her head she couldn't quite put the 'r' in his name, she shrugged and was on her way to answer his question. "My name is Helena". She spoke softly but not a scared soft, just a ' i don't want to put to much effort into this'. She moved her muscles so that the flys would land on another animal instead of her coat.
Yes, she had memories displayed on her coat that showed her past, she didn't have a perfect skin. But who wanted to be perfect anymore? Simple was the new perfect, and that was her definition.

The mare took a slight step back, but she didnt run. That was a good sign, he supposed, though he would now have to gain her respect and trust- it apparently wasnt something this mared handed out freely. The buckskin didnt seem too antisocial or opposed to his presemce, though she didnt exactly seem to welcome it, but rather treat it as something she must deal with. Her voice was soft, though not laced with fear, dread, or any other real powerful emotion. "Helena." Drusus repeated, nodding his head slightly. It was a fine name, regal and firm yet femenine. When she didnt persue conversation the handsome palomino almost sighed- it seemed he would have to carry this conversation himself. "Are you from here? Or just happened to wander through? I, myself, am not from this land, but instead one far, far away; of which I was to inherit. but, terribly, a tornado ripped through the land, scattering the herd and driving me out." his story was simple. It wasnt tear-inducing by any means, though a few females he had come across took it upon themselves to pity him, though he didnt think this mare would.

The silence grew louder, it was like being in a full land of horses but feeling alone. Alone was a feeling, and a being. Being alone she didn't mind, but feeling alone made her feel weak. She sighed and then perked her audits. His home too was ruined, like hers but only with human destruction. Both were deadly. She felt like the grass swallowed her hooves, like the land engulfed her. Feelings, she hid those. Thinking of her old herd, a large hollow rock was dropped in her throat.
She nodded. "I am not from theses lands, I have been a rouge for some time." She looked to the ground controlling her emotions. "I do know what is like to have something stolen from you. So why come to a land that is only in the making and not an already built land with defined social classes?" She swallowed and then softly chuckled. The emotional phases horses have how silly.

The forward movement of her ears was the only indication that Helena was paying attention to his tale, other than the sole face that she was looking at him. If not for that, he may as well have been having a conversation with a stump. And a dead stump, at that. His ivory tail flicked slightly and he shifted on his hooves, well toned muscles rippling like water under his golden pelt. Drusus nodded as the buckskin informed him that she, too, as not from Efre and that she was a loner. No herd, no stallion, and probably no foals- she seemed too young to have children, let alone grown children that had decided to strike out on their own. His head tilted to the side thoughtfully as he contemplated an answer. A simple 'I dont know' would certainly not suffice, he wanted to keep this lady's interest as she held his- in a death grip. "I suppose I want to make a name for myself, not follow after legends. Why not be one? Be respected and honored by those who follow after? Why fade into oblivion like a.. a nobody?" Drusus toned, nodding slightly. He knew this was the reason. It sounded vain, and it really was, but it still made sense- at least to him.

No light, no light. She did understand what the stallion was trying to say. She nodded as he talked, although she didn't have much interest, that was about to change. She was young, playful, and fast. After he explained on how he didn't want to be a follower but a leader, she nipped his side and then took off into the water. She was in a playful mood. As she waded through the water she waited for him to play this game of tag. She felt like she was a foal again. But every equine had that foal mind set at some time.

She didnt show any outward emotion at his words, didnt agree not disgaree. Instead, the pretty buckskin mare nipped at his side before taking off into the lake, crystalline water droplets flying into the sky. A snort rippled from the palomino's notrils before he moved forward at a gallop, rushing headlong into the water to splash towards Helena playfully. A deep nicker rumbled from his chest as he neared her, his head snaking out to allow him to nip at her black mane. Drusus reared and wheeled around, wading back towards land as fast as be could so that the mare wouldnt be able to catch him. A part of his mind berated him for acting so foalish, but it was fun; he hadnt relaxed like this in years.

She chuckled when he nipped back. Fast, but being fast in this game wasn't everything. She launched her body towards the shore, but in a different directions. She turned around the pine trees quickly stumbling on the stallion. She lifted on her hind quarters and landed softly nipping at him. Pivoting to the other direction and taking off at a teasing canter. She pushed off the ground into a full gallop into the woods seeing if he'd follow.

He raced up onto the pebbled shore and took off into the trees, his hooves pounding against the ground to propel him forward, his muscles rippling under his golden coat to bunch and unbunch, moving him forward. Drusus soon slowed to a smart trot, wondering if Helena would come after him. Maybe she would just give up and leave? He froze. No. No, that wuldnt work at all. The andalusian stud started to turn back the way he ahd come, but the buckskin amre was suddenly upon him, planting a light nip on his pelt before she sprinted off into the trees once more. He chuckled, shaking his head slightly at all the foolishness, before cantering after her, ears pricked forward to hear her, though he could clearly see the trail she had left. When it became obvious he wasnt going to catch up with her at the speed he was going, the palomino sped up to a flat out gallop, twisting around trees and occasionally jumping over a stray log.

She went deeper and deeper into the forest, she slowed down, to a halt. She could only hear herself breathing. She pivoted looking for her path, but it had been covered by fallen leaves. Something was thrown at her pelt and sunk its claws into her. She squealed, falling to the ground and saw two glowing eyes, and large teeth. She bared her own and snorted. Rolling from side to side, she painted the forest floor with her blood. Other large animals circled her and she threw her front hooves at them. As they tried to attach their bodies to hers she squealed for Drusus. She sunk her teeth into the large cat and tasted blood, choking herself with the large amount of fur, she let her grip go.
