The draft cross stud's eyes looked out over the warm field, his ears perked forward slightly. The smell of mares filled his senses as his notrils flared to catch their sweet heat scent, and he took a step forward to stand in the spring light. It was mid-spring and Outlaw had survived yet another winter, and had escaped the usual cold he caught. This had lifted his morale quite a bit, and the prospect of mares only made the day all the better. His bi colored tail flicked slightly as he let out a deep, rumbling stallion's call, the tone a rich baritone and its purpose clear. He was a strong, experienced stallion, so what mare would choose some prissy stud over himself? Outlaw ambled forward to a crisp patch of clover before lowering his head to graze, his ears swiveling to listen around him- either for a mare or a stallion who was itching for a fight over said mare.

RUBY The mare was waltzing around a blue roan as she snorted gently. Strength radiated off of her as she realised that a stallion had entered the meadow. She barged into her sister rudely and laid her ear against her skull as she looked at the second mare. "Do anything that could ruin our chances of a herd with this one. And I will ruin you. Got it?" The mare snaps before trotting out of the tree into the open meadow, trying to spot the stallion. Ruby could sense experience with this one, and it pleased her. She loved the challenge that this could be. The strawberry roan mare flicked her flaxen tain before trotting over to where she saw the stallion. "Hello there. The name's Ruby. The wimp that should follow out in a short while is my sister, Lapis Lazuli." She spoke with a confidence that may not have been associated with a mare usually. It was very easy to tell that she was not one to be pushed around. LAPIS LAZULI The blue roan showed obvious distaste in the words the other mare used. And she was never as pushy. For where Ruby was a nightmare, her sister was the dream. A protector. Someone to care for the world around her. Their colours suited their personalities. Red for anger and trouble. Blue for serenity and composure. Lapis Lazuli followed her sibling out from the trees, keeping to the shadows until she has no choice but to exit them. "Please dear sister. Rephrase that. There is a difference between being a wimp, and knowing your limits. And hello noble stallion. Please excuse the attitude of Ruby, she seems to think she owns... Well, everything." The statement drew an angry snort fro Ruby, who laid her ears flat upon her skull at Lapis. "Watch what you say child."

The draft cross stud raised his head and quickly swallowed the grass that was in his mouth as a pretty roan mare paraded over, her posture confident and her voice just as self-assured. Outlaw was automatically attracted to her. Not only was she beautiful, but her persona was. She was clearly strong-willed and not a push over, something he hated in mares- or just in others in general. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Ruby, Im Outlaw." the dark bay overo replied, nodding his large head to the mare respectfully. His dark eyes flicked to the blue roan mare who followed her sister, though her pelt was a different version of her sister's more striking strawberry roan. He quickly noticed the sibling's anamosity towards one another, but decided not to make a big deal about it, it might ruin his chances with both of them. "What are two lovely ladies like yourself doing out here all alone?" the stallion questioning, cocking his head to the side slightly.

LAPIS LAZULI Lapis turns her head to the stallion with a soft snort, "Well, I do not know about my darling sister, but I guess I live around here. I roam about, protecting the area and those in it. I may be looking for a herd to join, but despite my distaste for her, I'll not leave my sister. She's all I have left from my family." The blue roan smiles at the stallion, a genuine yet wary smile. Intelligent eyes scan the area, the mare spoke with a calmness about her and she flicked her tail. Ruby better not make ME look like the bad one here... Ears flatten agains the skull of the roan horse and she snorts at the older mare, trying to pass it off as flies. RUBY Ruby snorts at Lapis and smirks a little, before trying to stand taller. "Well, Outlaw, I am here because I came to visit my baby sister. And I'm looking for a herd that I can co-lead... I do not wish to separate from my sister, yet I know that I am destined to lead a herd..." Ruby trails off and smiles at him, before noticing her sister's gesture and she returns the glare. "Behave Lapis!"
