Cato looked around with a pleased gaze in his eye. This looked like a nice place still. Grasslands. The typical plains. He looks around at his herd and snorts quietly. Looking for the foal. He was anxious when she was out of sight... Anything could happen to the mute. He snorts with anxiety and calls for Bellona. When the mare responds he asks about the small foal. Causing the mother to worry slightly too. Then they hear the patter of hooves as she finally catches up with the herd. Bellona practically gallops over to her and nuzzles Tacita. Cato smiles slightly and looks around the herd. "Home... And just make sure the Dobytok don't find us... AGAIN." He says, a slight hostility shining through his tone as he glares at the other stallion in his herd. He'd always blamed him. For most things. Just because he knew that Nero had once wanted to lead Cato's herd.
Bellona nuzzles her foal again and then scolded her, "Tacita! You KNOW not to get out of sight... Anything could happen to you." The foal glares at her mother. They knew about her legs being weak... Yet they cantered up here like no body's business. It was their fault. AS USUAL.
((Hope you don't mind my mention of Nero without you already posting Skye :3 and I saw it as the Dobytok found their last valley, so Cato moved them :3))

The black and white mare followed behind her leads. Latona snorted slightly, lowering her head to graze. She swished her tail and looked at their lead fretting over his daughter. She rolled her eyes and stomped her hoof. Cato was weak. He always acted as if he was the greatest thing in the world and then his daughter goes out of his sight for two seconds and he has a anxiety attack. Latona's view of him might have something do do with her not having a foal yet, but Bellona did. Something about that just didnt sit right with her. The overo Kopyto mare looked over at Cato and sighed slightly, turning her rump to him as he rushed to Tactita's side.
The dappled stallion followed behind the rest of them, even slowing his pace to make sure little Tacita wasnt totally left behind. Nero rolled his eyes at Cato's glare. What did that stupid stallion think he did, breed his daughter? Truthfully, Nero thought he could do a better job of leading the Kopyto, though he had since given up on advancing that notion into reality. Nero moved away from the herd and lowered his head to graze, nickering a greeting to Latona.

Cato watches Bellona and Tacita before snorting quietly and lowering his head to graze. Tacita on the other hand trots over to Nero and smiles. Nudging his leg. Both in a thank you for keeping at her gait and an apology for her father's misguided - in her opinion - hate. Bellona walks over to Nero as well and nodded in greeting "Hello Nero." She mutters as she nudges Tacita softly with a small smile upon her maw. The foal just glares and nuzzles Nero, he stayed with her when the rest didn't. They just yelled at her for being slower... As if it was her fault. She stomps a shaky hoof and runs from her mother to Nero's other side. Bellona frowns and trots over to Cato.
"Cato... Why does she keep glaring?" The stallion had no answer for his mare and just looked at her dully, before turning his head to his foal, watching her nuzzle the other stallion with a glare. "I don't know why she is so fond of him... It's so frustrating." The stallion mutters with a snort, ears flattening slightly as Tacita smiles up at Nero. That should be him...

The dappled stallion looked down at the mute filly, surprised. "Hello." he says, giving her a smile and a nod. Nero swished his tail and goes back to grazing, keeping an eye on the little filly. "Do you like it here?" he asked, knowing to only give her questions which she could nod yes or shake her head in no at. "Bellona." the Kopyto stallion said, nodding to the lead mare out of respect. "You better not be getting me into trouble with your ma and pa." Nero said, making a funny face at Tacita.
Latona watched the foal run from her mom, her parents did always leave her behind. The black and white mare snorted and walked past them, giving them a nod as she passed. "Hello, Cato." she said, nodding and touching noses with her lead stallion. She swished her tail, looking at Tacita with obvious lust in her eyes. She just wanted a foal, was that so much to ask for? Well, she was going to let her demands be known. Latona glanced at Bellona, then looked at her hooves. But Cato was as much her's as he was Bellona's, wasnt he? "I want a foal." the black painted mare said boldly, looking him in the eye.

Cato glances at Latona and looks at the floor, pawing it with his hoof. "Ask Nero... Foals seem to like him more than me." he mutters resentfully, glaring at the stallion. Tacita was - is - his foal. But honestly, it seemed more like se was Nero's. Bellona looks at Latona and nods, "Cato, we do need more. Look around, our herd is not the largest of them all... And we surely need to boost numbers." Bellona wasn't the jealous type, but she spoke with reason. Instead of jealousy, her voice sparked with emotion. She was protective of the whole herd. More members would mean mor protection needed, but the mare would be happy to protect foals. She may not be too fond of Latona, but she'd still protect her if needed. Cato watches the foal sadly before looking at Latona again. Then at Bellona. He paws the ground awkwardly again. He'd mate with Latona to give her a foal and to boost the numbers, but he didn't want to lose a second foal to the stallion.
Meanwhile, acita shakes her head at Nero innocently, stomping her foot lightly. How was she meant to reply to him if she couldn't talk. It frustrated her to no end. She blamed her mute upbringing. She was only ever spoken to by Nero, and on rare occasions when her parents spoke to her. She glances at the other mare and frowns. Looking at the floor before nudging Nero with a fake smile and trotting to a solitary area. She snorts quietly and shakes her head, looking into the grass sadly, never learnt to speak, never would... She'd never find a friend who acceppted her and she'd be stuck with parents that patronised her. With an angered snort she looks at the mountins in the distance, curious as to what would be found as she grew up in the midst of war... Viewing the rival herd and watching bloodshed. It seemed so worthless.

Ehko stayed where she used to whenever the herd wasn't moving; slightly away from it. She didn't have anything against the others, no, but in all honesty she didn't find any of them interesting nor did she have any reason to interact with them. Surely, if needed she would say what was on her mind, no matter who it was about, but mostly she kept quiet and away from others. The others clearly used time on each other, but Ehko just kept grazing and watching. It was beyond her, how Cato and his 'precious' leadmare, Bellona, could care for that little thing of a filly called Tacita. Really, could they not see that the thing wasn't well build? Not only was it slow, but it didn't even speak. Shaking her head, she slowly went from looking at the thing of a foal, it's mother and it's.. well.. whatever Nero could be called, to looking at Latona and Cato. Flicking her tail once, she went back to just looking at the herd as one, before moving a little closer in order to not be too far away. She was still part of the herd, no matter how much it could seem like she wasn't at times.

Latona caught his words and barely managed to keep herself from rolling her eyes. If he couldnt handle his daughter being frustrated at him how was he supposed to lead them into a battle, a war to defend their homeland. The black overo mare smiled lightly as Cato nodded, glaring at Nero. "Let go of all your hate, leader. We must work together to drive back the weak, small Dobytok. We have to time to argue amongst ourselves." Latona growled, her mood rapidly darkening. She snorted and shifted on her hooves, looking over at Ekho. The mare was somewhat of a mystery, existing on the outskirts of the herd and whatnot. "Are you gonna breed Bellona, also?" she asked, turning her gaze back upon her chosen painted stallion. (skipping Nero cuz theres not much to reply to)

Bellona looks at Tacita and walks over to Nero, but not before snickering into Latona's ear, "Even if Ehko wanted breeding, I don't think she'd let anyone from OUR herd touch her. Latona, drag him by the ear if you must, he knows we need foals, We need members, he just doesn't like Nero because Tactita prefers him." It was no secret that the only horse in the herd that Bellona openly disliked was Ehko, and even then it wasn't much of a dislike, she just thought the mare was too shady. She looks at Nero as she approaches, "Why does she like you so much Nero, I swear, she prefers Latona to me aswell... How do you two do it?" She asks quietly.
Tacita looks at Ehko and tilts her head, why was she so distant all the time? The small foal walks over to her and looks up at her, she lets out a small neigh, due to it being the only sound she could make and she paws the ground to annouce her arrival, the foal nu.zzles the leg of the mare lightly, a small show of affection. Being very loving for a foal that wasn't shown much love by other foals. She looks at her mother and frowns, why was she with Nero, her father with Latona. They were usually inseperable. It was odd
Cato glares at his lead mare with the otherr stallion before turning to Latona, and sighing, Bellona was right, as was the other mare, "I guess you're right, it just seems wrong... Like I don't deserve another chance to be a father. Not after my first foal hates me." he mutters. resting his gaze on the mare beside him.

Ehko just pinned her ears shortly at her neck as Bellona snickered something to Latona. She didn't know what, but it was about her. She didn't care though; why should she? They could say what they wanted, she prefered to do what she wanted. Flicking her tail once, she lowered her head again, hoping just to keep doing her own, lonely thing, but no. The herds, currently, only foal just had to come and be all cuddly. Now, you shouldn't get Ehko wrong; she did not like the foal, but that didn't mean she was going to be a rude mare and kick it away for approaching her. It was, no matter what, just a foal and a foal of the leaders. She didn't give the foal any loving back though, but merely looked at it for a few moments. "Whatcha want, filly?" she asked, not expecting an answer and clearly the filly didn't hear her, as it turned it's head towards the rest of the herd. Ehko's eyes followed and she merely shook her head. "Nothing last forever, not even precius love," she then commented before turning back to grazing, keeping an eye on the foal, as well as the herd. Ehko had a spotted past, if you would: most others knew, but some parts were hidden. Not that she kept anything special hidden from the herd though. She only barely heard what Cato said, but in all honesty.. she sometimes wanted to kick the stallion, for not being more of one; she almost wanted to say, that he in some ways were worse than her own sire and that stallion had only lasted a few months as a leader. She didn't say a word though.

Latona nodded as Bellona ranted against Ekho. Personaly, she didnt have anything against the mare, but she was pretty quiet. The black and white mare flicked her multi colored tail slightly as Bellona wandered off to talk to Nero and Tacita annoyed Ekho. The mustang mare turned her gaze upon her stallion and her ears flattened slightly at his words. "Can you get over it?" she snapped, stomping a hoof. "Cant you just see whats best for the herd? Your acting like a jealous mare!" Latona ranted, shaking her head in disgust. The black overo mare turned and wandered off, her tail lashing against her sides.
The dappled grey lifted his head as the lead mare wandered over. Why did she have to come over? He was already on Cato's bad side, why did she have to make it worse. Maybe it was a test, Cato sent his mare over to be sure Nero was going to be loyal to him? He blinked at Bellona's question, not wanting to offend either of them. Finally the tall stalion sighed. "You guys leave Tacita behind all the time, telling her to keep up when she obviously cant. I slow my pace for her. You guys- her parents dont. She just needs social interaction." Nero mumbled, flicking his tail slightly in worry. Was she going to go off on him? Bellona always had a bit of a temper..
